Demetrio Collazos

Demetrio Collazos is a designer with a background in industrial design in Colombia and a second degree in interior architecture and furniture design from the Institute of Design in Lahti, Finland. 

His ongoing philosophy, Us by Design, is rooted in philosophical materialism: the belief that the material conditions of the world around us shape our identities, values, and ways of living. For him, design is a deeper act that influences how we live, behave, and connect.

Whether designing a chair, a space, or an everyday object, Demetrio perceives design as a mirror and a mould, reflecting who we are and shaping who we become. His work emphasises clarity, emotional connection, and everyday use, always aware that every design choice carries social, cultural, and political weight.
